Fuck You 2nd Amendment SovCit Types

After the past few weeks, I do believe the average American’s needle is moving on law enforcement, particularly ICE. What I would LOVE to know is what the hell is going on with the people who, for decades, have been loudly claiming that they have a right to bear arms in order to fight government tyranny. Now that the government tyranny is here they’re sitting at home with their thumbs up their asses, so far as I can tell. Masked, anonymous federal agents are going door to door without warrants and arresting, beating, and murdering innocent people with no recourse. That’s your exact nightmare, boys! That’s what you’ve been warning the rest of us about since Ruby Ridge! It’s here, baby, it’s been happening in LA and Chicago and now it’s super-happening in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

But it turns out all these freedom types were just bootlickers at heart. If you’ve spent much time learning about these movements and watching they way they circled up around Donald Trump, it’s not entirely surprising. But it’s still disappointing, in a way, when someone who won’t shut the fuck up about the fundamental rights of everyday Americans decides to go quiet when the exact shit they’ve been warning about hits the exact fan they’ve been screaming about. Where are the Bundys right now? They LOVE getting in armed standoffs with federal authorities. If Ammon and Cliven really believed what they said then the whole family and their followers should be converging on the Twin Cities right now. This is what they trained for, right???

We’re never going to get satisfactory answers, because the true (and deeply unsatisfying) answer is that these 2nd amendment, sovereign citizen, federal-government-hating types don’t actually give a shit about constitutionally-protected rights and freedoms, they only ever cared about their own convenience, money, and power. I just want that acknowledged for the benefit of everyone who ever took these people at their word. They’re full of shit, they were always full of shit, they never gave a damn about anyone but themselves, and their little vanity movement helped get this country to where we are today: almost exactly what they claimed to be preparing for, but directed at people whose inalienable rights they never actually cared about protecting. So now they can show their true colors: self-centered, bootlicking racists who don’t actually believe in anything they say. Cowards. I want that on the record. I want us to remember this going forward.
